Janice - CEO & Founder

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Care FNQ.

My name is Janice Woudwyk, and I am the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Care FNQ. Originally from Adelaide, I am a proud mother of three adult sons and grandmother to three wonderful grandchildren.

My professional journey began with 13 years in correctional services, where I worked as a Correctional Officer before progressing into Home Detention, Probation, and Parole. In 2009, I transitioned into the care sector, completing my Certificate III in Aged Care before moving into disability services as a Team Leader within Supported Independent Living (SIL). Since then, I have completed my Certificate IV in Disability and have gained extensive experience across frontline support, leadership, and management roles.

After relocating to Cairns in 2013, my family and I founded Care FNQ in 2020 with a vision of creating a service that genuinely puts people first. Care FNQ is very much a family business, built on the values of compassion, integrity, respect, and community. Having my family involved in the organisation has allowed us to create a culture where people are treated as individuals rather than numbers, and where participants, families, and staff feel welcomed and supported.

As Care FNQ has grown, so too has our ability to support the community. In addition to our disability support services, we established Supportive Coordination, providing participants with specialist support coordination services to help them navigate the NDIS and achieve their goals. We have also expanded into the hospitality industry through the Cairns Burger Café. The café provides people with disability the opportunity to learn valuable hospitality and customer service skills in a real workplace environment, helping them build confidence, gain practical experience, and develop skills that can support future employment opportunities.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working alongside many incredible people, and those experiences have reinforced my belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live the life they choose. My goal has always been to ensure that people have access to quality supports that help them achieve their goals, maintain their independence, and reach their full potential. If Care FNQ cannot provide the support someone needs, I believe it is our responsibility to help them find someone who can.

I am passionate about promoting choice and control, respecting dignity of risk, and ensuring every person is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. These principles continue to guide me every day and remain at the heart of everything we do at Care FNQ.

Jake Krebbekx - Business Operations Manager

Hello, my name is Jake Krebbekx.

Care FNQ is more than just a workplace to me—it is a family business that my mother and I started together with a shared vision of providing high-quality, person-centred supports to people within our community. Being involved from the very beginning has allowed me to witness the growth of the organisation and the positive impact it has had on the lives of participants, families, and staff.

I began my journey in the disability sector as the very first Support Worker employed by Care FNQ. Starting at the frontline gave me a firsthand understanding of the challenges, rewards, and responsibilities involved in delivering quality supports. From there, I progressed into Service Coordination, where I spent several years working closely with participants, families, guardians, and stakeholders to ensure people received the supports they needed to achieve their goals.

Today, I am proud to be the Business Operations Manager at Care FNQ. Having grown alongside the organisation since its early days, I have had the opportunity to contribute to its development while supporting our teams through every stage of their journey within the organisation.

Although my role has changed over the years, I still highly value the time I spend with our participants and support workers. Staying connected to the people we support and the staff delivering services each day helps ensure that the decisions we make remain practical, person-centred, and focused on achieving the best possible outcomes.

I am passionate about continuous improvement, developing strong teams, and creating a positive workplace culture where staff feel supported to succeed. I believe that by investing in our people and maintaining a strong focus on participant outcomes, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we support throughout our community.

Hello, my name is Pearl.

I am the daughter of a fisherman, I have three brothers. Born in Cairns, I spent much of my childhood between Kuranda on the Atherton Tablelands and Karumba in the Gulf of Carpentaria. I then spent a decade in Brisbane, where I pursued my studies and gained experience in various fields before returning to the beautiful Far North Queensland. I cherish a simple life, deeply value my strong family connections, and enjoy spending my spare time in the garden, at the creek, crafting and cooking.

Since joining CareFNQ in early 2025, I have been adapting my extensive experience in administration, workplace health and safety, business operations, and team management to align with the requirements of the NDIS. While I am relatively new to the disability sector and the NDIS, my commitment to open communication and continuous learning drives me. I thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy challenges, and am passionate about advocating for choice and control, ensuring that participants receive exceptional support.

I am proud to call Adelaide home. I am a devoted mother of five adult children—two sons and three daughters—and a proud grandmother to nine wonderful grandchildren.

After raising my family, I began my career in the care sector by completing my Certificate III in Aged Care in 2012. I spent two rewarding years working in aged care before transitioning to the disability sector in 2014. During this time, I was offered a Team Leader position, a role I proudly held for seven years.

Later, I relocated to Cairns, Queensland, where I worked within the rostering team of a disability support organisation. In 2021, I returned to Adelaide and resumed frontline support work.
